The Ledlanet fishing club is based at Ledlanet Loch which is in a beautiful secluded position about 500 metes from Ledlanet House. The Loch is a haven of wildlife with swans, ducks and coots all nesting on the island or surrounds. In spring the whole area is a blaze of coloured rhododendrons and azaleas with irises and water lilies flowering in mid summer.
The thatched boathouse has an upstairs room with balcony overlooking the loch. There is space for two boats at water level.
The Loch was historically stocked with Loch Leven Trout. Fish now spawn in the inlets burns so that the stock has been regenerating although the Ospreys which nest close by have recently been reducing numbers.
Membership is limited to sixteen so that there are no restrictions on when or how often they fish.
Caught in Loch 15/6/07 weighed over 1.5 lbs.
Anyone wishing to reserve the Loch for a day or evening should email us and we will blank out the date on the 'Fishing Calendar'.
Guests staying in the cottages can fish on the Loch by prior arrangement.
